Stamp Exhibition of 80th Anniv of Korea’s Liberation
The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung led the hard-fought anti-Japanese war to victory, thus achieving
the historic cause of national liberation on August 15, 1945. This was recorded as a significant day that put
an end to the national history full of vicissitudes and brought about a radical turn in carving out the destiny
of the country and people.
Thanks to this day, our country, once eclipsed on the world map, has developed into a diginified independent
and sovereign state and ever-victorious socialist thriving country of Juche and the Korean people are demonstrating
their dignity as masters of the country.
Today the Korean people pay the highest tribute to President Kim Il Sung, who liberated their country from
military occupation of the Japanese imperialists by waging the arduous anti-Japanese struggle and laid everlasting
foundations for the prosperity of the country and nation, and are striving to build a socialist power of
Juche under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
The State Stamp Bureau of the DPRK issued two individual stamps and a souvenir sheet to mark the 80th
anniversary of Korea’s liberation.
